In 2002, Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) was selected by the Marin Community Foundation to develop and coordinate a new youth center for Marin youth located at 1115 Third Street in San Rafael. Since 1976, BACR has worked within Marin County, providing a host of services that include school-based counseling, after-school academic and enrichment programs, and drug/alcohol/tobacco prevention and education programming within schools, community sites, and the Marin County jail.
The Computer Clubhouse provides a creative and safe after-school learning environment where young people work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology.
Huckleberry Youth programs seek to empower youth to develop and maintain healthy relationships as well as promote their talents, ideas, leadership and health. At The MYC, Huckleberry Youth programs will provide staffing in the form of a peer resource leader and teen peer resource guides.
